The Adept AD-RAIL is a comprehensive water-based underfloor heating system designed for installation within screed floors. It utilizes grip rails to secure 16mm PERT-AL-PERT pipes at 200mm intervals, delivering an efficient heat output of approximately 100W/m². This system is ideal for both solid/screed and beam & block floor constructions.
What components are included in the AD-RAIL kit?
Each kit comprises:
- WRAS-approved 16mm PERT-AL-PERT pipe
- A-rated pump
- Grip rails for pipe spacing
- Edge insulation
- Manifold (number of ports varies with kit size)
- Control pack
The kits are designed for single-zone installations but can be adapted for multi-zone setups using Adept or Heatmiser controls.
What are the installation requirements for the AD-RAIL system?
- Insulation: Use rigid PIR insulation beneath the system.
- Screed depth: A minimum of 65mm for sand/cement screed or 50mm for pumped screed is required to comply with building regulations.
- Vapour barrier: Depending on the insulation and screed combination, a vapour barrier may be necessary between the insulation and the screed.
How is the AD-RAIL system installed?
The grip rails can be affixed to the insulation using their self-adhesive backing or by clipping into the insulation. The 16mm pipes are then laid into the grip rails at 200mm centers. After securing the pipes, the screed is poured over the installation.
Can the AD-RAIL system be used in multi-zone heating setups?
While each AD-RAIL kit is designed for a single zone, it can be integrated into multi-zone heating systems by incorporating additional Adept or Heatmiser controls and manifolds with multiple ports.
